Philanthropy
ZogSports is the only social sports organization in New York that integrates opportunities to give back and get involved with sports leagues and activities.
- We help our participants give back- 5% of league fees donated to winning (on and off the field) teams' charities of choice.
- We give back- supporting, respecting and improving the communities in which we play. The P.S. 217 Roosevelt Island playground project and the Modell's Community Service Award are perfect examples.
- We help our participants get more involved- by organizing our own volunteer opportunities (see Roosevelt Island Health & Fitness Day below) and promoting charity events and volunteer opportunities for our charity partners.
Ways to get involved:
- ZogSports Volunteer Team: Join an awesome team of fellow Zoggers and lend a hand at volunteer and charity events while making friends with other volunteers. Expect first dibs at exclusive charity parties and volunteer opportunities, a special volunteer t-shirt and more. For more info and to join click here!
- ZogSports introduces Modell's Community Service Award, a $500 donation to the selected charity of the winning team. Find out more information about the award and how to enter by clicking here. To be considered, interested teams should submit written entries here.

ZogSports Volunteer Team Assists with
Roosevelt Island Health & Fitness Day

The ZogSports team and volunteer participants assisted with the Roosevelt Island Health and Fitness Day on Saturday, May 15. We organized and ran a sports-focused obstacle course for kids. We enjoyed spending the day volunteering and interacting with the Roosevelt Island community. Aaron Whallon, a Zog Volunteer, said, "I had a blast out there. Getting to spend some time playing sports with the Roosevelt Island kids was a rewarding time."

Zogger Visits Destiny School in Kenya;
Donates Zog Shirts from Dodgeball Team

Suzzy Lee, an avid dodgeball, football and kickball participant for the last three years recently volunteered at a school in one of the poorest suburbs in Mombasa. Lee said, "Volunteering at the Destiny School in Mombasa, Kenya was an incredibly unique experience. To see the children smile and to hear their laughter when they had so very little to give was priceless. They appreciated the ZogSports shirts that were donated and use them as their sports uniforms. Prior to the shirts, they had nothing that matched." Lee hopes to return back to the Destiny School soon to volunteer her time and bring more donations.
If you or your teammates have a similar volunteer experience, please send your information here so we can share your story. Have a need for donated ZogSports shirts? Email us! Zoggers are always looking for good uses for past season's shirts.
Play For Your Cause
ZogSports encourages each team to select a charity to play for. We ask each captain to designate an officially sanctioned 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization before the end of the season. Instead of prize money, we make charitable contributions to the winning teams' charities of choice. In addition, ZogSports' happy hour partners donate 10-15% of what you eat and drink to Play For Your Cause.
