ZogSports Fall Season Kickoff Party and Shirt Donation – September 3 If you’re like us, you may have recently designated an entire shelf in your closet to your collection of ZogSports t-shirts. Good news: we’re throwing a party to collect your old tees and give them to a worthy cause. Mission International Rescue Charities The non-profit organization works to supply the Dominican Republic's most marginalized people with a variety of life-altering services, and our shirts will be given to a number of worthy programs including a vocational school and a camp for HIV-positive children. A portion of the money collected at the door will go towards the cost of shipping the shirts to D.R. We’ll also be using the night to celebrate the start of the Fall season of ZogSports and help Zoggers get acquainted with their fellow participants. So whether you’re new to the league or have a bucketful of shirts to donate, join us!

Project Sunshine’s 5th Annual Run/Walk – September 21 Project Sunshine is a nonprofit organization that provides free, educational, recreational, and social programs to children facing medical challenges and their families. Volunteers are sent to visit hospitalized children to provide arts and crafts, tutoring, reading, nutritional cooking and special events. With 250 chapters in 33 states and 75 cities across the United States, Canada, China, Israel, Kenya, and Puerto Rico, Project Sunshine’s 10,000 volunteers serve 100,000 children and families each year. Help spread sunshine to children facing medical challenges! Join Project Sunshine’s volunteers, medical facilities, local schools and members of the community for a course certified 5K Run/Walk in Riverside Park. It will be a day full of fun for the entire family, and will feature a Fun Run for kids, food, live music, face painting, arts & crafts and much more! Proceeds support Project Sunshine’s programming efforts throughout the United States, Canada, China, Kenya and Israel. Climate Ride – September 20th-24th On the eve of the US elections, one hundred Climate Riders will cycle from New York City to Washington DC to make a powerful statement about the need for renewable energy legislation and climate change awareness. Join fellow Climate Riders for a beautiful ride that begins in the urban landscape of Manhattan, then meanders through rural New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the equine estates of Maryland to the ride finale in Washington DC. Along the way, expert speakers meet our cyclists each evening to discuss climate science, green technology, and how to reduce our carbon footprint. Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC’s Race for the Kids – September 27 Big Brother Big Sisters of NYC is hosting its 4th Annual Race for the Kids, a 5K Run/Walk in Riverside Park with a 2K Family Fun Run/Walk option for participants. Following the race, all participants attend a picnic with food, entertainment including music, face painting, basketball, and other games for the entire family. Those that participate in the race, help bring one-to-one adult mentoring to more of New York City's children in need, expanding their horizons and enriching their futures.

Burke Rehabilitation Hospital Hosts Wheelchair Games – September 27 Save the date for the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital’s annual Wheelchair Games. The invitational, funded by corporate sponsors and other donors, permits disabled persons to excel physically in a variety of track, field, and table tennis events. More than 90 athletes are expected to compete and participants are grouped into four classes according to age and ability. Field events include the club, softball, javelin, and discus throws. Track includes 20, 40, 60, 100, 400, 800, and 1,500 meter races. The event includes entertainment, silent auctions, and raffles.

15th Annual Race to Deliver – November 16 God's Love We Deliver - which provides nutritious meals, free of charge, to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-altering illnesses throughout New York City and nearby Newark and Hudson County, New Jersey – is gearing up for its 15th Annual Race to Deliver. Since its inception, nearly 65,000 New Yorkers have joined in Central Park to raise over $8.5 million, providing more than three million meals for men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-altering illnesses. The Race to Deliver is an event for the whole family, featuring a 4-Mile Run/Walk and a Kids Fun Run with special distances for all age groups. Help to continue providing meals and nutrition counseling to men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-altering illnesses Each weekday, God’s Love We Deliver serves 1,600 clients — half of them women and children. In over 20 years of operation, no eligible person has ever been turned away or has a waiting list existed. Hunger is a need that cannot wait. God's Love We Deliver has over 1,400 active volunteers who provide nearly 6,000 hours of service per month. Volunteers represent diverse socioeconomic, religious and cultural backgrounds, including lawyers, students, doctors, office workers, retirees, actors and opera singers.
