League Information

How Does It Work?

It's 5 on 5, 3 men (maximum) and 2 women (minimum) in the field at all times, with everyone running bases.  We keep it exciting for everyone through our casual division play.

What’s the Cost and What’s Included?

Early/regular registration will open April 21st and close May 2nd/ May 30th or earlier if the league sells out. League fees are $475/$575 for a team of up to 10 players ($35 for each additional player over 10 - no limit to number of players on your roster) and $75/$85 for individuals (we'll get everyone on a team). ZogSports donates a percentage of our profit to charity.

Fee includes:

  • 6 regular season games
  • 50% of teams will make the heart-wrenching single elimination playoff tournament
  • Field/Court fees
  • One t-shirt per person on the roster
  • Equipment - ZS provides bats and balls.
  • "Prize Money" from our sponsors donated to the winning team's charity of choice
  • League administration
  • Organized Happy Hours at local bars after the games

When Does it Start and When Are the Games?

The league starts in early June.  Games will be on Tuesday evenings.  Games will be between 6:30 and 8:30pm (Most games will start at 7:00pm).  Because some of the yards we will be using are not lit and we need to play when the sun is shining, teams should expect to have a handful of their games start at the early start time.

Where Are We Playing?

All games will be in the greater Astoria, Queens area:

  • Hoyt Playground - Hoyt Avenue between 29th and 31st Street, just off the Astoria Blvd N/W stop

Please note that game times, location and dates mentioned above are a very good guideline, but may change slightly.

What Are the Rules?

This is a fun recreational league. So we want everyone to play, stay involved and stay safe. The key rules are:

  • 5 on 5, 3 men (maximum) and 2 women (minimum) in the field
  • Soft Toss Pitching
  • 50 minute games with no inning limit
  • Running Bases with force outs and pegging
  • For full set of rules, see link at top of page.

Levels of Play

  • Casual Division - Whether you've played before or this is your first time, our casual division keeps it fun and social for all levels of players.
