How Does It Work?

It's 5 on 5, 3 men and 2 women on the field. Everyone is running bases and we have a variety of pitching styles.  We keep it exciting for everyone on the team through our 3 divisions (Players, Casual and Extremely Casual).

What’s the Cost and What’s Included?

Summer early/regular registration will open April 21st and close May 7th/16th or earlier if the league sells out.

The cost is $475/575 per team or $75/85 per individual. Rosters are generally 9-10 players (5/6 men and 4/5 women). ZogSports donates a percentage of our profit to charity.

Fee includes:

• 6 regular season games
• 50% of teams will make the heart-wrenching single elimination playoff tournament
• Field/Court fees
• One t-shirt per person on the roster
• Equipment - ZS provides bats and balls.
• "Prize Money" from our sponsors donated to the winning team's charity of choice
• League administration
• Organized Happy Hours at local bars after the games

When Does it Start and When Are the Games?

The league starts in late May/early June. Games will be on Monday-Thursday evenings. Games will be between 6:15 and 8:30. Because some of the fields we will be using are not lit and we need to play when the sun is shining, teams should expect to have a handful of their games start at the early start time.

Where Are We Playing?

All games will be played in great locations including:

• PS 9 Sara Anderson (84th and Columbus)
• PS 111 Adolph Ochs (53rd between 9th and 10th)
• Tecumseh Playground - Behind PS87 William Sherman (77th and Amsterdam)
  
• Riverside Park Track Infield at 73rd Street
• Stuyvesant Town Field #3

Please note that game times, location and dates mentioned above are a very good guideline, but may change slightly.

What Are the Rules?

This is a fun recreational league. So we want everyone to play, stay involved and stay safe. The key rules are:

• 5 on 5, 3 men and 2 women on the field
• Pitching
  • Extremely Casual Division - Underhand
  • Casual Division - Soft Toss
  • Players Division - Fast pitching
    
• 50 minute games with no inning limit
  
• Running Bases with force outs and pegging

Levels of Play

• Players Division - Think you're a jock? Can you handle the speed pitching.  This division will be competitive, but still fun.
• Casual Division - Played before? Not a bad athlete? This is the happy middle ground.
• Extremely Casual Division - this is the pure fun division. It's for you if you're looking more for the social than the competition or consider yourself a beginner at the organized game.
